Returning to the Brazil League from the Premier League, William receives the club s maximum salary

Brazilian media RTI Esporte reported on financial details of William's transfer to Gremio. The former Fulham midfielder will be one of the club's maximum-paid players.

According to the report, in addition to the signing fee and bonus linked to the score, William's monthly salary is about £215,000 (Real 1.4 million). This made him beat former Barcelona stars Artur and Braithwaite and became the maximum-paid player in the team.

The 37-year-old has never competed in any competition since May 10. He signed a contract with his new owner until the end of 2026 and can renew his contract for one year based on his performance. The report also pointed out that Gremio does not have to bear the full salary. One of the club's sponsors will pay his salary and other expenses to help the team sign the experienced organizer.

Although there is interest from Saudi and European clubs, William still chose the club of his own country. He received support from Gremio fans and had some assurances with club presidential candidate Marcelo Marquez. After returning to the Brazilian League, the winger will be reunited with another Fulham former player, Carlos Winnieus. Gremio hopes the duo can play a role in the second half of the season.
