Wilz joins, and the 11-man lineup in the history of the Premier League is reconstructed!
With Werz transferring to Liverpool, the German midfielder joined the ranks of the most expensive eleven-man lineup in Premier League history. Here are the most expensive lineups in the Premier League history (all fees include floating terms). Goalkeeper: Kepa – Chelsea (£71.6 million) In 2018, Chelsea signed Spanish goalkeeper Kepa from Athletic Bilbao for £71.6 million, making him the most expensive goalkeeper in history. Kepa is seen as a promising genius, but failed to meet expectations in West London. He helped the Blues win the UEFA Cup in his debut season, but was replaced by Mendy in the 2020/21 season. In recent seasons, Kepa has played for Real Madrid and Bournemouth on loan, and is expected to join Arsenal at a £5 million reserve this summer. Rightback: Cancelo – Manchester City (£60 million) When Cancelo joined Manchester City from Juventus, he became the most expensive right back in history. The deal involving the Portuguese international is worth £60 million, including £27.4 million in cash and Danilo in exchange. Cancelo won three league titles at the Etihad Stadium and was twice selected to the Professional Players' Union (PFA) Team of the Year. After falling out of favor, he played for Bayern Munich and Barcelona on loan, and joined Riyadh Crescent in 2024. Central defender: Maguire – Manchester United (£80 million) In 2019, Manchester United signed Harry Maguire from Leicester City for a price breaking the world defender's transfer fee record. The defender has performed well in the international arena for England, helping the Three Lions reach the semi-finals of the 2018 World Cup. During Manchester United's ups and downs, Maguire has made 246 appearances. He was appointed captain under Solskjaer, but was stripped of the captain's armband during Tenhah's tenure. Central defender: Van Dijk – Liverpool (£75m) Liverpool made a comeback in January 2018 with a record offer after the summer window of Van Dijk. With the funds for the sale of Coutinho's record transfer fee, the Reds signed the centre-back from Southampton for £75 million, setting a record for the defender's transfer fee at the time. The Dutch Iron Gate was at the heart of the back-defense during Liverpool's glorious period. His honors include a Champions League title and two Premier League titles, and he led the team to win the latter title as the captain in the 2024/24 season. He is one of only three defenders in the Premier League era to win the PFA Player of the Year award (2018/19 season). Leftback: Guvadior – Manchester City (£77 million) In 2023, Manchester City defeated many top European clubs and signed Guvadior. The Croatian international has made his mark when he played for RB Leipzig before the Premier League, with a transfer fee of £77 million. Gwadior was a big success in Etihad and was regarded as one of the best young defenders in Europe. The 23-year-old was named Manchester City's best player in the 2024/25 season. Midfielder: Kesedo – Chelsea (£115 million) Kesedo joined Chelsea at a record price in 2023, which is the second time the Blues broke the UK transfer fee record in just six months. The Ecuador international has been ups and downs in his first season at Stamford Bridge but has regained his outstanding interception ability in the 2024/25 season. With his continued dominant performance in midfield throughout the season, Kesedo won the Chelsea team's best player award last season. Midfielder: Rice – Arsenal (£105 million) Rice left after leading West Ham United as captain to win its first major trophy in 42 years. Arsenal signed the midfielder from their London rivals, when Arteta's side was preparing for a return to the Champions League. Rice finished second in his debut season with the English Journalists Association (FWA) Football Player of the Year and took his game to new heights at Emirates Stadium. In the 2024/25 season, the 26-year-old scored nine goals and sent 10 assists, including two wonderful free kicks against Real Madrid. This all-round midfielder is an indispensable key link for Arsenal. Midfielder: Enzo Fernandez – Chelsea (£106.7 million) Enzo Fernandez transfers to Chelsea in January 2023 shortly after helping Argentina win the World Cup in Qatar. The deal was a British transfer fee record at the time, marking the amazing rise of the midfielder, who had only transferred from Riverbed to Benfica just six months ago. Fernandez was an important contributor to Chelsea's qualifying for the Champions League last season and winning the UEFA Champions League championship. Right winger: Wirz – Liverpool (£116 million) Wilz is in this roster and may be the most expensive signing in Premier League history. If all floating terms are met, the German player's transfer to Liverpool will be worth £116 million. Liverpool spent a huge amount of money to bring in one of Europe's most exciting young geniuses. Wilz is the inspiration for Leverkusen's historic first Bundesliga title in the 2023/24 season (and unbeaten throughout the season). He has been selected as the Bundesliga Player of the Year in the past two seasons. Left winger: Gallish – Manchester City (£100 million) When Manchester City activates Gallish's termination clause at Aston Villa, he became the first Premier League player to be worth £100 million. Gallish left the team he played for as a child seeking championship honors and won a lot of team honors at the Etihad Stadium. He has won the Premier League championship trophy three times with Manchester City and won the Champions League, but it has always been difficult to ensure the main position. Gralish only starts 15 league games per season on average and is expected to leave this summer. Forward: Lukaku – Chelsea (£98.5 million) Lukaku returns to Chelsea, which seems to be a match made on paper. The Belgian striker had previously scored goals in the Premier League and signed with the Blues after spending two high-production seasons at Inter Milan. However, things went against my expectations. Lukaku scored just eight league goals and alienated fans in a controversial interview in December. He criticized the then-head coach Tuchel's tactics in an interview with Sky Sports and expressed his hope to return to Inter "in the near future." After the season, Lukaku was loaned back to Inter Milan.
