Poaching rivals! BBC: Manchester United will invite Brentford chief operating officer Manek to take up the post
October 9th, according to BBC reports, Manchester United will appoint Brentford Chief Operating Officer Amish Manek to a senior position in Manchester United football operations. Staff at Manchester United and Brentford were informed of the news earlier on Wednesday. Manek joined Brentford in 2022, initially as director of business operations, and was later promoted to chief operating officer in July 2024. Prior to that, he spent five years at Arsenal as head of first-team football operations. At Brentford, Manek's role was mainly limited to administrative work, but it is said that his new position at Manchester United will be more focused on football affairs for the men's and women's teams. Manchester United have made a series of key executive appointments in recent months, including the hiring of Stephen Topi from Brentford as their new academy director.
