Mukoko scored for Copenhagen, ending a goal drought that lasted nearly a year

Hupu, August 17th, Yusufa Mukoko scored for Copenhagen for the first time since leaving Dortmund. This ended the long-term goal drought of the former Dortmund talented player.

In the Danish Premier League match against North Zealand from Copenhagen away, this moment finally came: Mukoko scored a header in the 59th minute, scoring the team's first goal. This also tied the score to 1-1. In the end, Copenhagen won 3-1, with 12 points in five games, ranking first in the standings.

This marks the end of Mukoko's long goal drought. The 20-year-old last time scored a goal for the German U21 national team on November 15, 2024. At the club level, the striker has a longer wait time. On September 20, the player who was loaned from Dortmund at the time scored twice for Ligue 1 club Nice.

"I have had a lot of goals lately and it's finally done," Mukoko said of his personal breakthrough: "It's obviously great to score my first goal for the club."

"I want to keep going like this, so hopefully this is just one of many goals in Copenhagen," the center explained.

Mukkoko was once considered a child prodigy in Dortmund and made his debut on Dortmund at the age of 16. However, his career then stagnated. Mukoko was not selected for the German national team roster in the recent U21 European Cup.
