Moggi: Whether we can qualify for the World Cup depends on ourselves, I hope Italy will be in good shape during the play-offs
In an interview on November 22, Moggi talked about the prospects of Italy qualifying for the World Cup. Italy finished second in the group in the European World Cup qualifiers and had to participate in the World Cup play-offs. Moggi said: "If we fail to qualify for the World Cup, it is entirely our own problem. It is meaningless to discuss the strength of our opponents. If we have difficulty scoring 2 goals against Moldova, but Norway can score 11 goals, then we do have a problem." Moggi continued: "This is why I say that Italy's real opponent is ourselves. I hope that the national team will be in a good state when the World Cup play-offs are underway. We also need to see the physical condition of the players by then, which will also affect whether they can advance smoothly."
