Former Real Madrid star calls on clubs to develop new striker: Mbappe is not suitable

There is no doubt that Mbappe is one of the most deadly and in good condition in world football today. In recent international competitions, the Real Madrid No. 10 has extended his outstanding form from the club level to the national team. In fact, he has become the second most goals scored in French team history.

However, despite being the winner of the 2024/25 European Golden Boot Awards, many people still question Mbappe's ability as a center.

Former Real Madrid and Barcelona star Alfonso Perez Muñoz insisted in a recent interview with the media that Mbappe is not a natural striker and a more suitable position should be on the wing.

"I support Real Madrid in bringing in a center, and for me, Mbappe is not suitable. Given his size and characteristics, he has performed very well wherever he plays, but he is a player who has been playing on the left and that is where he feels most comfortable."

Muñoz then detailed how he thinks of Real Madrid and how he relies too much on a few specific players in certain teams. The former star stressed that the new forward helps to calmly deal with big names in the team when the team is absent.

"Mbappe, Vinicius, Rodrigo and Bellingham are all superstars in the team, but if one of them is missing one day, it will be a big problem because there may be no substitute forward needed."
