Torriani: I dream of playing in the Milan derby, Maignan is a great goalkeeper and a very good person

November 19th: This weekend’s Serie A will usher in the Milan Derby, and Milan’s 20-year-old goalkeeper Toriani talked about this derby.

Have you ever dreamed of participating in the Milan Derby?

Of course. As a Milanese, I have been growing up in the Milan club since the youth training, and participating in the derby is one of my biggest dreams.

Do you remember some Milan derbies from the past?

The memory is very vague because I was still very young at the time. But there are some special derbies. For example, last season, I was sitting on the bench and I was really excited.

What is your opinion of Maignan?

He is a great goalkeeper, but first he is a very good person. He is very professional, always the first to arrive at training grounds and often the last to leave. He is very focused on his goals and he helps me stay consistent in training.

Who is your goalkeeper idol? Can't say Maignan...

I would say Courtois, he performed very well at Real Madrid. His improvement over the long term has been remarkable.

You made your debut as a substitute in Milan’s Champions League match against Liverpool last season. How did you feel at that time?

The hug with Alisson at the end was very unforgettable...I lost the ball shortly after I came on the field, and he comforted me, which was very touching. I used to watch him play on TV and it was great to see him up close.
