Sun: England s 6th League team intends to invite Rooney to coach

June 28 According to the British media "The Sun", England's 6th League team McClersfield is interested in inviting Rooney to coach.

Roney was previously fired by Plymouth. Plymouth ranked last in the Championship when Rooney left office after seven months of coaching. Rooney won only five of his 25 games in coaching. Despite the rebound in form under Miron Muslich's coaching, Plymouth eventually dropped into the League One.

According to Alan Nixon, the Sun transfer expert, Rooney is now the target of McClersfield, the North England National League team.

The club was reorganized after the bankruptcy liquidation of McClersfield Town in 2020. It is currently in the National League for Northern England (England Level 6).

Former Manchester United midfielder Robbie Savage is currently the head coach of McClersfield. But he is being watched by Forest Green Rangers, with Nixon claiming that Rooney will be on the club's roster if Robbie Savage leaves.

Mcclesfield advanced from the Northern Premier League last season with over 100 points. Robbie Savage joined the team last summer, winning 40 of his 51 games.

After leaving Plymouth, Rooney has been working as a commentator for Amazon Prime.

Rooney began his coaching career at the US team Washington United for the first time in 2020. He has since taken charge of Derby County and Birmingham, followed by his brief coaching at Plymouth.
