Respect and transparency! Spanish Football Players Association & La Liga captain held a meeting to protest overseas competitions

August 22 According to the Spanish Football Players Association (AFE), the association and all La Liga team captains held a meeting this Thursday afternoon to discuss a proposal announced by the Spanish Football Association (RFEF) on August 11. The proposal plans to move a La Liga match this season overseas and has applied to UEFA and FIFA.

AFE asked the La Liga to provide a detailed report so that players can understand the situation and express their opinions. However, La Liga refused to take responsibility for this and only promised to inform the progress of the approval process.

Faced with this situation, the AFE believes that this project, which was promoted by La Liga and approved by the board of directors of the Spanish Football Association, is disrespectful to the players due to the lack of dialogue and transparency of information to the players. Especially when it comes to changes at the sports level and sending players abroad as workers under the framework of the domestic league.

"We are united. We demand respect and transparency." The AFE calls on all relevant Spanish institutions to provide all information about the project through this strong message. The program will change the rules of the game and require prior dialogue, consultation and agreement with all football stakeholders, especially with the "main player players".
