Suriname official wrote: "We warmly welcome Jason Vermeer to serve as the assistant coach of Suriname and lead the team to compete in the World Cup Central and North America and Caribbean qualifiers and the Golden Cup that will be held in June. His knowledge and vitality are valuable assets for the coaching team and players. I am glad you join us."
Jason Vermeer's father is a Dutch and his mother is an Indonesian. He has lived in China for many years.
