Guide Zhang Kunyue, a famous Chinese football player and coach and winner of the Lifetime Achievement Award in Beijing Football Association, unfortunately died in Beijing on May 2, 2025 due to a heart attack at the age of 88.

Coach Zhang Kunyue was born in Beijing in 1937. He has loved football since childhood and has outstanding talent. His career as a brilliant player. In 1959, he represented the Beijing team in the first National Games and achieved outstanding results. In 1961, he was honored to be selected as the Chinese national football team and in 1962 he was named one of the 22 outstanding football players in the country, reaching the peak of his athletic career. His playing career lasted until the age of 38 and is a rare evergreen in football. After retiring, Zhang Kunyue continued to devote himself to the football career. He served as an assistant coach and member of the National Air Force Football Team.
