British media: Lazio goalkeeper Mandas may leave the team in the winter window, with a transfer fee of 10 million to 12 million pounds
November 22 According to British media GIVEMESPORT, Lazio goalkeeper Mandas can be transferred in January for a fee of approximately 10 million to 12 million pounds. This summer, Wolves were very interested in Mandas, but Lazio's asking price was as high as 22 million pounds (25 million euros). As the winter window approaches, Mandas' price has dropped significantly as Lazio need funds to balance their books. Lazio is subject to a transfer ban this summer. If they are allowed to sign in January, they are expected to actively sign. The prerequisite for lifting the transfer ban is that the club must straighten out its financial situation, but the club is confident in bringing in new players. Mandas' contract with Lazio expires in 2029, but he is open to a transfer because he has not played in Serie A this season. He joined Lazio from OFI Credi in the summer of 2023. He made 20 appearances last season, but is currently behind Providel in the team pecking order. Mandas was once the first choice of former Lazio coach Baroni, but he could only be included on the substitute list under Sarri. Selling Mandas in January may be beneficial to all parties, and the possibility of the Wolves reconsidering the introduction of Mandas cannot be ruled out. Wolves are expected to fully support new coach Edwards in the transfer market, and bringing in a new goalkeeper is one of their top priorities. This may not be as urgent as finding a new midfielder and forward, but José Sa, Johnstone and Bentley are all 32 years old, so the club hopes to add a younger goalkeeper in 2026. Valencia and Galatasaray were also interested in Mandas in the summer window and may try to sign him again. Considering that Mandas has played twice for the Greek national team, he may be one of the most cost-effective players in the winter window. It is expected that more clubs will contact Lazio in the winter window.
