TA: Jordan Kobe s double-signed star card sold at $12.93 million, setting a new record in sports history
According to The Athletic, a unique 2007-08 Upper Deck Exquisite Collection series, Jordan and Kobe's double logoMan (NBA logo patch on the jerseys they wore in their respective games) were sold at the early morning of Sunday morning through Heritage Auctions (local time in the United States).
This card is now the most expensive sports card ever. Heritage Auctions estimated the card at $6 million before the auction, slightly higher than the previous record for basketball cards.
Stephen Curry's 2009 Panini National Treasure LogoMan signature patch rookie card was sold in a private deal for $5.9 million, setting a record for known basketball card sales. In the public auction, the highest transaction price of the basketball card was $3.12 million, a 2018 Panini National Treasure LogoMan signature patch rookie card (the card changed hands for $4.6 million in a private deal a year ago).
