Mijatovic: As much as I respect Casillas, Courtois is the best goalkeeper in Real Madrid history

October 23rd: Former Real Madrid star Mijatovic analyzed Real Madrid’s 1-0 victory over Juventus in the Champions League on Radio Ser’s program.

Mijatovic said on the El Larguero program: "Courtuva is the best goalkeeper Real Madrid has ever had. Although I respect Casillas very much and he is a great goalkeeper, he has proven his strength since Courtois joined. There is no doubt that Courtois is the best."

Since joining Real Madrid in 2018, no goalkeeper in the five major European leagues has saved more goals than Courtois. Based on expected goals, Courtois should have conceded 340.2 goals, but actually conceded only 288, which means he avoided 52.2 goals for Real Madrid.

Casillas played for Real Madrid from 1999 to 2015. The club's official website calls him "a Los Blancos legend, Casillas is the greatest goalkeeper in the history of Real Madrid and Spanish football." During his tenure, Casillas won 19 titles, including 3 Champions League titles, 3 Club World Cup titles, 2 UEFA Super Cup titles, 5 La Liga titles, 2 Copa del Rey titles and 4 Spanish Super Cup titles.

Courtois joined Real Madrid in 2018 and has won 14 championships so far, including 3 Champions League championships, 3 Club World Cup championships, 2 European Super Cup championships, 3 La Liga championships, 1 King's Cup championship and 3 Western Super Cup championships.
