Manchester United will offer £26 million to buy Donnarumma

After failing to loan Emiliano Martinez from Aston Villa, Manchester United has turned their signing target to another potential candidate - Italian goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma.

Donnarumma is expected to join Manchester United. In this summer's transfer window, the problem of keeping the door has always been a big problem for Manchester United. Main goalkeeper Andre Onana suffered from injuries, while substitute goalkeeper Altai Baindir's performance was unconvincing.

According to the Mirror, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) is willing to sell Donaruma to avoid losing both money after the contract expires next summer. The French Ligue 1 giants priced the Italian goalkeeper about £30 million, while Manchester United is expected to offer an initial offer of £26 million.

It is worth noting that Donnarumma himself is very eager to enter the Premier League and has clearly expressed his willingness to join Manchester United, even if the Red Devils fail to qualify for the Champions League in the new season.

It is reported that he has rejected a high-paying offer from a Turkish club, showing his strong desire to start a new chapter in his career in England. If all goes well, the signing may become a key part of Manchester United's reconstruction plan under Ruben Amorin's coaching.

Previously, Manchester United had contacted Aston Villa, hoping to loan Argentine goalkeeper Martinez. But Villa refused and insisted on a buyout fee of £30 million. Despite Martinez's outstanding form, Manchester United has some concerns regarding age factors considering he is 32 years old. In contrast, Donnarumma, who is only 26 years old, is in his year of playing and can still maintain a high-level competitive state for many years in the future, which is obviously more valuable for long-term investment.
