Inter Milan locks in front line to strengthen the top target, contacts Manchester United frustrated center Hoylund
Manchester United Danish center Rasmus Hoylund has become the focus of the transfer market in the future after a disappointing 2024-25 season. It is understood that Serie A giants Inter Milan have listed the 22-year-old scorer as the primary goal in strengthening the front line and have started initial contact with its team. Hoylund was in a sluggish form in the Premier League this season, scoring only 4 goals, far lower than his 10-goal performance in his first season, which put him under considerable external pressure. Although Manchester United coach Ruben Amorin still gives trust, the pressure on the team's performance and potential lineup changes have increased the possibility of players leaving the team. Inter Milan, which is determined to hit higher goals, currently has a major dependence on the combination of Lautaro Martinez and Marcus Toulam, but lacks a reliable third striker. Considering that Hoylund proved himself in Serie A during his 2022-23 season at Atlanta and showed great potential, Inter Milan regarded him as an ideal candidate to solve the thickness of the front line. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed to the newspaper that Inter Milan's management has recently held preliminary talks with Hoylund's agent team, intending to inquire about the players' willingness to transfer. Romano stressed that Hoylund was Inter Milan's "main choice" but not the only target, and Parma's young forward Anger Ioni Bonnie is also on the shortlist. However, the main obstacle facing this potential transaction is the transfer fee. According to the Milan Sports Daily, Inter Milan's budget for the new striker this summer is about 40 million euros (about 33.8 million pounds). This figure is obviously far from the cost of Manchester United's £64 million (additional terms) when they introduced Hoylund. This means that if a deal is to be concluded, Inter may need to propose more creative solutions including player exchanges or installment payments. At the same time, Manchester United is also actively adjusting the attack line. The club has officially triggered the termination clause in Wolves striker Mattus Cunia's contract to recruit him. Cunia is expected to play primarily as the front midfielder (No. 10), but is also competent for the center position, which will form a direct competition with Hoylund. In addition, Manchester United's signings at the winger position have also made progress. Brentford's Cameroon international Brian Mbemo has decided to join Manchester United and has rejected invitations from Arsenal, Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur. Currently, Manchester United is negotiating with Brentford on the transfer fee for the wing fast horse.
