Frank: Coaching Tottenham is similar to coaching the Bees, but the pressure is different

. The most important thing for me is making sure the team is extremely competitive and that we can compete day in and day out against any team, no matter what the circumstances. So I think that's important. We will definitely play more smoothly in the future, there is no doubt about that, we just need to take it step by step.

I know this question may be a bit tricky for the Spurs manager, but is the challenge you face on Sunday the biggest in the league? Are you playing against the best team in the league?

This is a crucial derby. Of course, I'm new to Tottenham, but everyone knows the importance of the north London derby. But talking to the staff, the players, people who have been here for many years and the fans really gave me a sense of the scale and weight of it, and it really is a major event.

For me, the next game is always the most important, but this game is more important than the ordinary "next game", much more important.

I know that in a single game, we are fully capable of remaining extremely competitive, I have no doubt about it. Maintaining competitiveness in the 38-round league is another challenge. In Sunday's game, we face a team that is at the top of the league and we will do everything we can to compete and win.

Will Sunday's game be a "set-piece battle"? Both of your teams are great at set-pieces - Arsenal are very good at scoring from them, and your record from set-pieces is excellent. Do you think set pieces will determine the outcome of Sunday's game to a large extent?

I think you can say that. You can see that most of Arsenal's goals this season have come from set pieces. So obviously when we analyze our opponents we find out that "they score a lot of goals from set pieces", so we have to be prepared in that regard.

On the other hand, we are also quite good at scoring set pieces, so they also need to focus on prevention. It's going to be a battle in the game, a set-piece battle, and we have to win that battle.

What is the key to being good at set pieces?

I think it is the same as doing anything, you must have a clear tactical structure, clear principles, practice repeatedly, and maintain a high degree of concentration. That's the key.

Do you watch your opponent's set piece footage over and over again, looking for patterns, loopholes or weaknesses?

Yes. Now we have a dedicated analyst who studies set pieces and he does his best to find out all of Arsenal’s weaknesses and strengths at set pieces. Then Andreas (Tottenham's set-piece coach) will take the lead in formulating the tactical plan. After discussing it with me and the coaching staff, we will determine the final plan.

This was also mentioned at the press conference. Nicholas Joffre has worked with you at Brentford before, so this can also be regarded as a duel between two set-piece coaches, right?

Yes, it is indeed a bit like a competition between two set-piece coaches. But to be fair, almost every club in the Premier League now has a dedicated set-piece coach, and we were the first to set up this position at Brentford. More and more clubs are starting to take set pieces seriously now, so it will also be a battle between me and Nicolas.

Do you feel that you and Brentford have greatly impacted the Premier League in this regard? Because we can see that this season (and maybe last season as well) the league has undergone a huge change in terms of set pieces.

I hope that's high praise, but there's no doubt in my mind that Brentford did inspire a lot of people, I'm sure of that.

Last question, to put it simply, how much are you looking forward to Sunday’s game?

Looking forward to it very much. I know this is one of those games where you know as soon as you step on the field it means something to everyone. The atmosphere will be very tense, the situation on the pitch will be chaotic, and you won't be able to control every move of the players at all times. You have to trust them and trust they know what to do and then we go all out and do whatever it takes to win.
