Dima: Court rejects appeal for sale of San Siro, Inter Milan and Milan can continue to purchase plans

July 16, reporter Di Mazio reported that the Milan Administrative Court rejected the appeal for the sale of the San Siro Stadium, and Inter Milan and AC Milan can continue to purchase the plan.

The Milan Administrative Court has rejected the "Meazha Committee"'s request to suspend the sale of the San Siro Stadium and its surrounding areas to Inter Milan and AC Milan. Administrative judges believe the appeal is not sufficient to prove the need for a suspension of the sale and doubt its acceptability. Therefore, the city can continue the transfer process, which is expected to be completed in the next few days.

The core issue of this appeal is to calculate the start date of the 70-year protection period. According to the city, this period should be calculated from November 1955. The judge believed that the correct calculation date should be the date of acceptance of the project, that is, November 10, 1955, rather than January as claimed by the committee. Furthermore, the court found that there was not enough emergency to support the suspension of the sale, as even the demolition of the stadium would not happen by 2030.

Now, Inter and AC Milan can continue to advance the purchase of San Siro Stadium and its surrounding areas, with the goal of closing the deal by July.
