Rockets inside star: Many people told me not to go to the NBA, so I work very hard every year
Houston Rockets interior star Alperen Sengun is currently in training in Turkey. He also accepted an interview with reporters during the training, and in the interview he talked about how he integrated into a new environment when he first came to the NBA. Shin Kyung said: When I was traveling to the NBA from Türkiye to play, many people told me not to go there. My goal is to go there to improve my physical fitness, language skills and basketball skills. I also know that staying in a highly competitive NBA is not an easy task, as more than 60 new players will join the league every season. Those who play there must work very hard to survive. It is precisely because I understand this that I can realize it, so I work hard every season to try to add something new to myself and my game. Shin Kyung continued: My fourth season in the NBA has ended, and I will soon usher in my fifth season in the NBA. Last year, I signed a five-year long-term contract with the Rockets. Last season, we were fighting for victory in every game. Although we are a very young team and there are many young players in our team's lineup, our performance is not bad either. We finished second in the Western Conference in the regular season. By the coming season, there are some more experienced players to our team who can provide us with leadership on the court. I believe we are well prepared for the new season. In the NBA regular season last season, Shin Kyung played 76 games for the Rockets in 82 games, averaging 31.5 minutes per game, averaging 19.1 points, 10.3 rebounds, 4.9 assists, 1.1 steals and 0.8 blocks, and 2.6 turnovers and 2.8 fouls. His shooting percentage was 49.6%, a three-point shooting percentage of 23.3%, and a free throw shooting percentage of 69.2%. In the playoffs, Shin Kyung made a total of 7 appearances, averaging 36.6 minutes, averaging 20.9 points, 11.9 rebounds, 5.3 assists, 1.9 steals and 0.4 blocks, and 2.1 turnovers and 3.7 fouls. He shot 45% from the field, 37.5% from three-point shooting percentage and 62.5% from free throws. Shin Kyung's performance in last season is impressive. He has grown into the Rockets' No. 1 star, and he was shortlisted for the NBA All-Star lineup last season with his outstanding performance. This summer, the Rockets introduced veteran Kevin Durant, and the team's lineup strength has also been further improved. For Shin Kyung, his offensive pressure will be significantly reduced next season. I don’t know if Shin Kyung can show stronger competitiveness under this situation and help the team attack the championship.
