Leaving the Warriors to join the Pistons, getting out of the trough, the Kings welcomed a qualified point guard?
According to the latest report by Shams Charania, a journalist at authoritative sports media ESPN, former Detroit Pistons backcourt star Dennis Schroder has reached an agreement with the Sacramento Kings to sign a three-year contract with a total contract of $45 million. In the deal, the first two years of the contract will provide full protection, while the third year part will be guaranteed, a detail further disclosed by Yahoo Sports reporter Chris Haynes. Schroder's journey this season is quite dramatic. He was first traded by the Brooklyn Nets to the Golden State Warriors, and then traded by the Warriors to the Pistons again due to his ups and downs in form. In the NBA regular season, Schroeder played 75 times for three teams. His average of 13.1 points, 2.6 rebounds, 5.4 assists, plus 0.9 steals and 0.2 blocks, and his average playing time was 28.1 minutes. In addition, his shooting percentage was 40.6%, his three-point shooting percentage was 34.2%, and his free throw shooting percentage reached 83.8%. During the playoffs, Schroeder played 6 games for the Pistons, averaging 12.5 points, 2.3 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game, and averaged 27.4 minutes per game, shooting percentage increased to 49.1%, and three-point shooting percentage reached 47.6%. Schroeder's performance this season has fluctuated. Although he has been very combative in his time at the Nets, he has attracted the attention of the Warriors and was traded by them, his performance with the Warriors was really unsatisfactory, which surprised many people. After transferring to the Pistons, Schroeder's form recovered and showed a normal competitive state. Especially in the playoffs, his overall performance has improved significantly, showing impressive offensive ability. Even though the Pistons were eliminated in the first round, Schroeder was able to successfully demonstrate his technical characteristics. For the Kings, the team urgently needs a strong point guard to enhance overall competitiveness, and Schroeder's joining is obviously crucial. This deal is a win-win situation. Schroeder not only won an ideal contract, but also had relatively stable playing opportunities and a lot of ball rights in the Kings. And for the Kings, they finally found a major player with rich experience and strong strength in the point guard position. However, whether Schroeder can find his role in the combination with Zach LaVine and Malik Monk is a question worthy of attention.
