James: There was no social media before. Now parents want to compete when they see other children training.
June 11th News Today, Lakers forward James' podcast program "The Brain of the Field" aired the 11th episode of the second season, with James, Doncic and host Nash talking about many topics. Speaking of parents' mentality when fostering their children's participation in sports, James said: "That's also the impact of social media. Because you're seeing everything about other people. In our growth period, our parents don't know if this child has a trainer or what the child is practicing. You basically can't see those things. Our parents only know, 'OK, do you want to play football? Very good. Do you want to play something else? Don't you want to play this? OK, let's relax.' We can't see this child training five days a week, so if my child doesn't have five days a week, he can't stand out. We didn't see those before."
