If James decides to leave the Lakers this summer, there may be 3 potential best destinations

According to US Sports F/W Nico Martinez. Lakers star LeBron James has not said he plans to join another team, his 23rd NBA season. While he has a connection with Los Angeles, it is well known that LeBron and his family will adapt quickly, with no reason to think he can’t succeed elsewhere in the final stages of his career. That's why since their playoff trip ended, experts have been suggesting James leave Los Angeles, claiming he would be better on a completely different team.

While James is expected to choose to execute his contract, he can control his final destination and easily become a free agent if he wants. There is still time to decide, only LeBron knows which path he leans towards, but there are several great teams (outside Los Angeles) that are perfect for the 40-year-old superstar.

Cleveland Cavaliers

For LeBron, what better way to end him where he started his career? From 2003 to 2010, he was the Cavaliers’ No. 1 star and led them to the championship-winning stage in the East. When he later returned in 2014, he will lead the team to dramatically reverse the Golden State Warriors 3-1 for the first ever championship.

For a team with weak wings and lacking depth in the forward position, James is as fitting as the Cavaliers’ gloves, and his influence will be extraordinary as a great organizer, scorer and leader on the court. Most importantly, he can guide young stars like Garland, Mobley and Mitchell to accelerate and promote their development. The New York Knicks have solid veteran cores like Brunson, Towns and Bridges, but they still need the last piece of the puzzle to tie them together. Fortunately, after this year’s Eastern Conference Finals trip, the Knicks are once again the ideal location, with the stars increasingly attracted by the opportunities there.

LeBron had been pursued by the Knicks before, but now he has several reasons to see them as potential final destinations. In New York, LeBron can take his brand to a whole new level, and his fan base will expand by millions overnight. No matter who they hire as head coach, they will be in good shape, winning a lot of games in LeBron and a star-studded roster.

San Antonio Spurs

1 The Spurs have been linked to several big names as they want to build a roster around Vinban Yama. While Durant and Antetokounmpo are early targets, the Spurs may also consider him if LeBron is likely to leave the Lakers. Due to limited cap flexibility, the Spurs must take some action before introducing James. As a young team with no playoff experience, having LeBron is of great significance to the Spurs players’ growth and development of championship habits. LeBron can organize the offense for San Antonio and play at the best of Vinban Yama with his amazing field vision and elite passing ability.

For LeBron, the opportunity to play side by side with the best young players in the league is hard to miss, even if it means a salary cut to do it. For a legendary team like the Spurs who are widely respected throughout the league, LeBron can spend his last NBA season in total peace, and he may even lead them into the playoffs. Even if James retires, he still plays on the level of raising the ceiling for any team he is on. This season, he averaged 24.4 points, 7.8 rebounds and 8.2 assists per game, as comfortable as ever, the Lakers ranked well in the standings (third in the West 50-32). While he will almost certainly return to Los Angeles next season (stay with his eldest son, Brownie), you can never rule out the possibility that LeBron will change the environment, especially when the situation in Los Angeles is so unstable.
