Clippers inside star: I completed weight loss this summer, and our team s weaknesses have been strengthened
After the Los Angeles Clippers completed their daily training, some players on the team were interviewed by reporters. In an interview, the team's inside star Ivica Zubac talked about his weight loss and the team's defensive problems during the NBA playoffs last season. Zubac said that he lost nearly 8 pounds (about 7.257 pounds) this summer. He said: All I want to do is to lose some excess fat and add some muscle. I feel that after I have finished losing weight, my body has become lighter, but because of the increase in muscles, I also feel that I have become stronger. I think I'm in a pretty good condition. We've had a good physical training over the past six weeks, so I'm in pretty good shape right now. Zubac then talked about the Clippers' poor performance in defensive rebounding and defense in the playoffs last season. Zubac continued: These two points are very important to our team's record in the new season. But I think all of our weaknesses last year have been improved. We have brought in a number of high-level players this summer and with their arrival, I think the team is much better now than last year. I am full of confidence in the team and we will perform at a high level in the new season. In the NBA regular season last season, Zubac made a total of 80 appearances in 82 games, averaging 32.8 minutes per game, averaging 16.8 points, 12.6 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 0.7 steals and 1.1 blocks, and 1.6 turnovers and 2.1 fouls, with a shooting percentage of 62.8% and a free throw percentage of 68.1%. In the playoffs, Zubac made a total of 7 appearances, averaging 36.6 minutes per game, with averaging 17.4 points, 10.1 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 0.7 steals and 1 block, and 1.6 turnovers and 2.7 fouls. His shooting percentage was 65.9% and his free throw shooting percentage was 53.8%. In the previous offseason, the Clippers completed several important signings, and they signed Chris Paul, Bradley Beal, John Collins and Brook Lopez. Among these players are excellent point guards like Paul, powerful scorers like Bill, inside swingers like Collins with excellent athletic ability, and inside veterans like Lopez with rich experience. With the completion of these signings, it seems that the Clippers' paper strength has been further improved. It's just that the Clippers' operations in every offseason look very successful. The key question is whether they can stay healthy in the new season and attack higher records?
