The Timberwolves cut center Jesse Edwards, the player will join Melbourne United in Australia

According to NBA reporter Rob Murrows, a league source revealed that the Timberwolves have officially cut center Jesse Edwards.

Jesse Edwards was last year's draft and then signed a two-way contract with the Timberwolves. Before starting his NBA career, he attended Syracuse University and West Virginia University.

Edwards averaged 11.9 points, 7.5 rebounds and 1.8 blocks in 34 games for the G League Iowa Wolves. Last season, he played 18 games for the Iowa Gray Wolves, averaging 11.7 points, 8.4 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 1.0 steals and 2.2 blocks per game, and shot 61.0% from the field.

Previously, the Timberwolves signed back to Newton on a two-way contract. Newton will be a two-way player for the Timberwolves this season along with Enrique Freeman and rookie center Roko Zikarski.

It is reported that Edwards has agreed to sign with the Australian National Basketball League (NBL) Melbourne United to play in the upcoming season.
