If Jordan joins the group, he will be in hand with the 15th championship! Jordan s agent speaks, is he hinting at James?

At the SBJ's 4th Sports Business Conference held on May 21, a former NBA agent named David Falke. As the agent of Michael Jordan, the former basketball god, Falk reviewed his legendary cooperation with Jordan, and made a sharp comment on the current NBA era.

In the interview, when asked by reporters whether Jordan was the greatest player in history, Falk did not hesitate: "Of course it's Michael Jordan." Then, for the second person's candidate, Falk mentioned the name of Jabbar or Kobe.

Then when the reporter asked further, "Is James in the top ten in your heart?"

Falke said, "Probably, I really like LeBron, but I think that if Jordan had been able to choose the team he wanted to join and partner with the other two superstars, he would have already won 15 championships." The implication is very obvious. In Falke's understanding, Michael Jordan relies on head-on battles and single-core leadership, while James' career relies more on team-building to compete for the championship. Although Falke did not explicitly belittle James, the contrast in his words was strong, which inevitably reminded people of some implications.

After talking about the stars, Falk also talked about the current contract market in the NBA. As a big name from an agent, his observation perspective is naturally different from that of ordinary people:

"Now nearly three-quarters of the NBA's contracts do not need to be truly negotiated. Rookie contracts, maximum salary contracts, basic salary contracts, and even various special contracts are almost all templated and standardized things."

Falke's meaning is very obvious. Today's agents no longer need to negotiate a contract with careful calculations like in the past, but play more the role of a process coordinator. Falk also pointed out that it is precisely because of this that player commissions are gradually shrinking, competition is becoming more and more intense, and making money is becoming more and more difficult.

"Players have always had influence, but now they use this influence more openly and more prominently. I have contributed to many deals, but I will never talk about it publicly. It will devalue this sport on which we rely for a living."

Falke also recalled emotionally about his collaboration with Jordan. In addition to the legendary moments on the court, he also talked about some of the bad things of that era, such as Jordan falling into a public opinion storm due to a gambling scandal at the golf course, and the media revealed that he had paid the infamous liar Slin Bowler a huge sum.

"I really thought he would fire me in person at a lunch."

Falke admitted, but Jordan's handling method made him admire him: "He apologized to his parents, apologized to his boss, apologized to his teammates, and then it's all."

Falke emphasized that if you want to establish a real relationship with someone like Jordan, there is a bottom line: you can't lie to him,

"They have to know that no matter when, as long as they ask you for advice, you must Sincere, not perfunctory, not backing down."

Interestingly, Jordan recently announced that he would appear on NBC Sports' NBA show, but Falk seems to be not optimistic about it:

"I would be surprised if Jordan could appear on the show three times."

As a player agent, Falk is quite familiar with his former big-name client. Obviously, in his eyes, Jordan is more suitable for being alone. He is not as good as Barkley or O'Neal who can play a chatterbox role in front of the screen.

In the NBA, a public opinion field that is gradually innovating, there are more and more star players in the post-ethnic era, and Falk's voice also represents the mentality of a generation of agents towards the old era. Whether you agree with their views or not, it is undeniable that Jordan, James, Kobe, and other superstars have created their own moments. From the perspective of fans, it may be difficult to get a completely unified standard answer for who is the greatest player in history.

But one thing is that Jordan's agent Falk said it very directly:

"If you have seen Jordan play, you know that he doesn't need to join in a group, he is a champion team."
