Fire: The trading rumors between the Rockets and KD are suspicious. The latter is & the reserve price is high

May 12th Rockets reporter Ben DuBose revealed when he participated in a podcast program that he was skeptical of the Rockets' involvement in Durant's deal in the offseason.

"Let's talk about Durant's obvious thing. The Rockets expect the Suns to contact them for obvious reasons because they have draft picks and they theoretically qualify, but that's suspicious," DuBose said.

"No one will rule out this possibility, but whether the Suns' needs, the chips that are reasonable for them, and the resources the Rockets are willing to give up is doubtful. Whether it is young players or draft picks, and to match the salary of more than $50 million next year in order to get close to Durant, these are doubtful."

"They will evaluate and do their duty, but the Rockets also trust the core roster and their timeline. Obviously, Durant will be 37 next year, so this deal needs to be considered. Of course, it sounds good in theory, and they will conduct the investigation conscientiously. If the asking price is low enough, it may not be ruled out, but given the bottom price is already so high, they will not bid actively again." DuBose added.

The Rockets have the right to swap first-round picks with the Suns this year, and the Suns' first-round picks in 2027 and 2029 are also on the Rockets.
