Famous reporter Buha has resigned from The Athletic, and he will operate podcasts to focus on reporting on the Lakers in the future

June 21, June 21, Lakers' team reporter Jovan Buha announced that he had left The Athletic, ending his seven-year career journey in the media.

On Friday morning local time, Jovan Buha posted a farewell post through his social account and said he would continue to cover the Lakers independently through his podcast "Buha 's Block".

Jovan Buha wrote: "Some personal news: After seven incredible years, today is my last day at The Athletic." He was hired before The New York Times acquired The Athletic, starting with LeBron James joining the Lakers in 2018, to winning the championship in 2020, and to the Lakers’ deal with Luca Doncic this season, he witnessed and reported it all.

"It's hard to express what this place means to me in words," Jovan Buha wrote. “I’m lucky to be joining The Athletic in the early days of its founding, and to work with the most talented group of people in sports journalism to create something really special. I have grown a lot during this time – as a journalist, as a writer, as a person – and I’m grateful.” The departure of Jovan Buha is the second major churn since the beginning of the summer. Last week, Front Office Sports reported that Warriors reporter Anthony Slater will switch to ESPN.

Since the New York Times acquired The Athletic in 2021, the platform has adjusted its operational strategy. Some cities are under the responsibility of regional journalists, and sometimes one journalist reports on multiple local teams at the same time. As for Jovan Buha himself, he said more news about his career future will be announced later this summer.
