Derek White predicts first team of the 2025-26 season: Jaylen Brown is selected

According to US sports media F/W reporter Gautam Warier, Celtics guard Derek White shared his predictions for the 2025-26 NBA All-Team Team First Team on his White Noise podcast. White chose some of the big names in the game today, but could be accused of being a little biased in one of his choices. “I mean, maybe Jokic, Antetokounmpo, that could be obvious,” White said. "Doncic, Alexander and Jaylen Brown."

The first team of the NBA All-Squad in the 2024-25 season include Alexander, Mitchell, Tatum, Antetokounmpo and Jokic. White believes there will be two changes, with Mitchell and Tatum giving way to Doncic and Jaylen Brown. Brown's choice aside, these are all great choices.

Alexander averaged 32.7 points, 5.0 rebounds, 6.4 assists, 1.7 steals and 1.0 blocks for the Thunder last season. This is his third consecutive year in the first team, and there is little reason to believe that the 2025 MVP will not continue that record.

Speaking of winning streaks, Doncic entered the first team for five consecutive years from 2020 to 2024. However, he played only 50 games last season, meaning he is not eligible for a team in 2025. Even if Doncic meets the 65-game requirement, he may not be able to enter the first team. The 26-year-old averaged 28.2 points, 8.2 rebounds, 7.7 assists, 1.8 steals and 0.4 blocks per game for the Los Angeles Lakers and Dallas Mavericks in 2024-25, which by his standards was a bit of a downturn.

Doncic is not at his best, but he has undergone a physical transformation this offseason. An NBA scout who supports the Slovenian in winning the MVP next season, should be in the competition. Next we talk about Brown, who is by far the least likely to be in the first team. The 28-year-old has never been selected for this in his career, only once for the NBA All-Squad No. 2, which was in 2023.

Brown's argument is that he will take on a bigger role as Tatum may miss the entire 2025-26 season due to injury, while Ju Holiday and Kristaps Porzingis are no longer with the Celtics. He averaged 22.2 points, 5.8 rebounds, 4.5 assists, 1.2 steals and 0.3 blocks per game in the 2024-25 season, and these figures should rise a lot.

Nevertheless, it seems unlikely that Brown will enter the first team. He needs to have an incredible season and drag the Celtics to a respected seed team in the East to have a chance. While it would be surprising if Brown succeeded, it would be a shocking thing if the two next did not.

Antesco has been selected for the first team for seven consecutive years, which is an amazing feat. In the 2024-25 season, he averaged 30.4 points, 11.9 rebounds, 6.5 assists, 0.9 steals and 1.2 blocks per game with the Milwaukee Bucks. I hope Antetokounmpo can also be at its best in progress. Finally, let's talk about Jokic, who has been on the first team in five of the last seven seasons. The three-time MVP averaged 29.6 points, 12.7 rebounds, 10.2 assists, 1.8 steals and 0.6 blocks per game for the Denver Nuggets in 2024-25. Jokic is widely regarded as the best player in the NBA today, and he is unlikely to lose the title next season.

So, Alexander, Doncic, Antetokounmpo and Jokic are quite safe choices here. However, it is hard to predict who will finish fifth, because the competition is fierce.
