Bad news, Cavalier Mitchell Mickey s Mickey Resonance Check shows that there are questions about whether the Pacers can be played in the fifth game

Bad news, the results of the Cavaliers' MRI test show that there are questions about whether he can participate in the fifth game against the Pacers

Cavs star Donovan Mitchell showed his recent ankle injury during the MRI test, so he may miss the fifth game against the Pacers.

Cleveland Cavaliers star Donovan Mitchell suffered an ankle injury in Game 4 and lost to the Pacers 109-129, thus likely to miss Game 5 against the Indiana Pacers Tuesday night.

According to ESPN's Shams Charania, Mitchell underwent an MRI on Monday morning and was diagnosed with a recurrence of an ankle injury that has been around since the end of the regular season. While reporting on Mitchell's MRI results on the Pat McPfee Show, Charania explained that Mitchell "expected" to make a game decision in Game 5 Tuesday night. The Cavaliers suffered from injuries in the playoffs.

In addition to Dalius Garland missing four playoff games with a toe injury, Evan Mobley and DeAndre Hunter also missed their second game against the Pacers due to injury in the first game of the series. Now, Mitchell faces injuries in Cleveland, which means a lot as his team trails the Indiana Pacers 1-3 in the series.

Mitchell played for 20 minutes on Sunday night and scored 12 points, but the Pacers were behind 39-80 when the Cavaliers entered the locker room, the biggest half-time difference in team history.

When warming up before the start of the second half, Mitchell had difficulty bearing weight on his left calf and he immediately returned to the locker room.

He did not return in the second half because the team called him a left ankle injury. After the game, head coach Kenny Atkinson said the star defender will undergo an MRI test on Monday morning to determine the extent of his injury.

The good news is that Mitchell was in good spirits in the hall of Gainbridge Arena on Sunday night. He told Cleveland's Chris Fedor that he will make an appearance on Tuesday as the Cavaliers are currently in trouble.

"I will be doing well on Tuesday," Mitchell told Fedor. "You know me. See you on Tuesday."

Cleveland is currently trailing Indiana 1-3 in the Eastern Conference Semi-Finals series after a crushing defeat on Sunday night. The Cavaliers have a regular season record of 64 wins and 18 losses, and their record is mediocre. Now, they have to win three games in a row (one away game, two home games) to maintain their hopes of winning the championship and advance to the Eastern Conference Finals.

If Mitchell is unable to play in Cleveland Tuesday night, the Cavaliers' season is likely to end after entering the playoffs with the championship hopes.

The Cavaliers have not officially announced Mitchell's injury diagnosis before Game 5.
